The combined bomber offensive of the Second World War is a controversial aspect in the Allied conduct of the war. The Allies viewed the campaign as a necessary step in the defeat of Hitler’s Germany . However, during and after the war there was much criticism of this policy as it appeared to be targeted at “innocent” civilians and resulted in death and destruction out of all perspective to the advantages gained. Consider the main points raised by the film and compare them with other perspectives of the Bomber War.
