Usually we study the history of states with fixed borders, but people who are part of one state sometimes move to another state (or another part of an empire) for education or work. For East Asia from 1900 to 1945, identify three groups of people who left their native place to live somewhere else. For each group, explain why they left and what advantages and disadvantages they experienced in their new place.
