Take a closer look at the peer and co-worker relationships in your organization. If you do not have enough information to draw from in your current organization, you may extract examples from another work or organizational experience (job, a class, fraternity/sorority, church, etc.).
1. Using special peer relationship, mention two individual benefits you have received related to social support, information exchange, and mentoring. Be sure to give detailed examples for two different types of support.
2. Consider other relationships you’ve had within an organization and examine the dark side of peer relationships. Give one example of a time peer support was misused in one of the four ways: commodity, information retrieval, co-dependency, or support that may work against the person. Be sure to clearly label which kind of misuse it was and a detailed example explaining how that support was misused according to the description of the concept.
