Among the top-of-page menu items, choose "Context" and then "Related Objects." Carefully read the instructions on using the database. Enter the database. Note that you may increase the number of objects shown on a single page by entering a larger number (such as 100) in the box at the bottom of the page (enter the number and hit return). Choose an item and write about the object. Include information about the physical materials of the object and about the use of the object.
2. Use your Internet research skills to investigate The Cross of Lothar (or Lothair), in the Treasury of the Imperial Chapel at Aachen, Germany. Explain why the Ottonian crucifix is said to harken back to Carolingian (or even Roman) conventions and ahead to Romanesque conventions. A Google image search will provide many photographs.
