The overall objective is to interface a joystick to the microcontroller. The joystick is made with two potentiometers. You can use two astable multivibrators (LM555) to convert the two resistances into two periods. Use two period measurement channels to estimate the X-Y position of the joystick. Organize the software interface into a device driver, and write a main program to test the interface.
