Unlike the political debate, this forum provides an opportunity to have a discussion of abortion that is grounded in and motivated by sober philosophical argumentation. Please concentrate, in particular, on one or both of two of the strongest arguments we considered: Marquis’ anti-abortion argument and Thomson’s pro-abortion argument.
Specifically, please post (a) at least one objection to one of these two arguments and (b) at least one reply to another student’s post. The aim here is to generate a discussion from which everyone can learn, so please focus on issues arising from consideration of Marquis’ and Thomson’s arguments.
