Uniformity of the magnetic field

A uniform magnetic field B with magnitude 0.012 T is directed vertically upward throughout the volume of a laboratory chamber. A proton with kinetic energy 5.3 MeV enters the chamber, moving horizontally from south to north. The proton mass is 1.67*10^-27kg. The magnetic field is produced by a pair of Helmholz coils have radious 10.5 cm and each coil contain 200 turns.

a) For best uniformity of the magnetic field what should be the veritcal separation of the coils.

b) What current is needed.

c) what is the edireceion of the current in the upper coil?

d) what is the direction of the current in the lower coil?
