Problem:
This paper will demonstrate that you understand the ecological/systems framework and can apply it to a specific case example. You may apply the framework to a specific time period in your own life or to a character in a novel, movie, or television show. You will first provide a brief social history of the person you are assessing. You will explain the ecological/systems framework with appropriate references. The last part of the paper will apply the framework to help understand/explain the person's life situation and the relationships between the person and their environment. Your paper should include the following: Introduction Explain the purpose of your paper. Identify the person you are writing about and the situation (if from a book, include the title, author, and a short description of the person/key factors you will cover in your paper). State that you will be using the ecological/systems framework to understand the impact the environment has had on this person's life. Describe the person and the significant factors that have an impact on this person's life Include descriptive, objective information about the person and the person's environment Age, race/ethnicity, and current status Physical, psychological, socio-cultural, and developmental factors Significant past and present life experiences that impact the person's interaction with her/his environment Key people, groups, and organizations within the person's environment that are critical to the person's ability to function Explanation of the Ecological/Systems Framework Give a brief overview of the framework and why it is useful for understanding individual behavior within the environment. Focus on the concepts you'll apply in your paper. If using Bronfenbrenner's model, briefly describe each system (micro, meso, exo, macro, and chronosystem). If discussing concepts like boundaries or open/closed systems, explain these briefly. Application of the Framework Demonstrate your understanding of the ecological/systems framework by showing how it can be applied to the individual you are writing about. This section is an integration of parts B (person's details) and C (framework concepts). Use the framework language (e.g., mesosystem relationships, macrosystem influences) throughout your discussion to explain the person's life situation. Include examples that show: Environmental factors which have had positive effects on the person's life during the time period on which you are focusing. Environmental factors which have had negative effects on the person's life during the time period on which you are focusing. Resources and obstacles that support/limit healthy functioning or development of the individual. Your goal is to show you can apply the framework, not just describe it. Conclusion Provide a brief summary of your paper and key points. End with a general closing statement that connects back to the purpose. Need Assignment Help?
