Alcohol
Underage drinking occurs in all facets of society. Parents are purchasing alocohol for parties where underage drinkers have full access to this alcohol. The consequences of someone drinking and then leaving the home drunk are huge. Please weigh in on the following questions.
Have you ever been to a party where parents bought the alcohol for minors?
If someone leaves the party and dies or kills another person, should the parent or adult be charged in the death because they purchased the alcohol?
What problems have you or your friends encountered with regards to alcohol?
In what ways has alcohol affected your life or a loved ones life in a negative way?
Smoking on College Campuses
Read the Points of View "Smoking on College & University Campuses" on page 245 in your text. Do you think that someone has the right to smoke on campus or is banning smoking discriminatory?
FMC is a smoke free campus. In light of this, do you feel as though you could ask or should ask smokers to put out their cigarettes if they were violating this policy? Why or why not?
