1. Share an example of a natural disaster that could occur in your state or region of the United States. What types of intelligence technologies could be used to prepare for and respond to the disaster? What challenges do you think would exist to using these different types of technologies in your area? If not currently living in the United States, base your answer on a U.S. area where you have previously lived with which you are familiar.
2. The threat and overall possibility of terrorist organizations using some sort of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) material in a domestic terrorist incident is on the rise. Discuss your views on the importance of first responder training on a continuous basis using the most up-to-date personal protective equipment (PPE) gear and safety equipment available. Include your opinion on whether or not you believe this training is being effectively conducted at the federal, state, and local levels.
3. If the power and phone networks were all knocked out by cyber-attack, terrorism, or natural disaster in your local jurisdiction, what measures would be taken by authorities to ensure continued communications such as 9-1-1 services and community safety? What measures would you or your family need to take as a result of the incident?
