Two ships are floating at rest in the ocean somewhere ship

Two ships are floating at rest in the ocean somewhere. Ship A (1100kg with an escape pod onboard) fires an escape pod horizontally at ship B (2000kg). The escape pod (100kg) successfully lands on the deck of ship B. After this event, ship A has a speed of 2m/s. Please show all work.

a. What is the speed of the escape pod after it left the ship A? Assume that the ship glides through the water and the pod through the air without any loss of energy.

b. What was the speed of the Ship B after the escape pod came to rest on its deck?

c. If the speed of the escape pod was twice what (a) said it was, how fast would ship B be traveling after the collision?

d. The "simply gliding through the water" is a model. We know that there is actually some drag. Is the speed of the escape pod you calculated a lower limit or an upper limit on the real speed?
