Aversion therapy utilizes conditioning as a treatment for alcohol and drug abuse. Locate one peer-reviewed article on aversion therapy published within the past five to six years. The article should describe an original study using aversion therapy to treat alcohol and/or drug abuse. Your assignment must contain the following:
1. Summarize the article, including the purpose of the study, outcome, and recommendations.
2. Explain how the principles of conditioning are incorporated in the treatment.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of the study using learning principles from the readings and external sources.
This paper should be three to four pages in length, excluding title and reference pages. Include a minimum of three scholarly sources that were published within the past five years to substantiate your argument. Your paper and sources must be formatted according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Your grade will be based on the quality of your analysis of the principles of classical conditioning used in the study, your ability to summarize outside sources in your own words, the quality of the sources chosen, your writing skills, and the appropriate use of APA style as outlined by the Ashford Writing Center.
