Trace the development of spatial illusion (the in two- three-dimensionality) creation of the appearance of dimensional works (painting or relief sculpture) from the Late Gothic period to the Early Renaissance period.
Be sure to include at least two examples from the Late Gothic Period and two examples from the Early Renaissance period.
Compare and contrast these works in terms of how each artist dealt with space.
Are there other elements the artist used in the work that helped create or deny the illusion of space?
In addition, discuss what was occurring in society that might have had an impact on the way artists dealt with space.
