TQM (Total Quality Management) was originated from Japanese manufacturing industries and had gained significant influences worldwide in 80s and 90s. Started by Motorola, Six Sigma had became the major methodology for continuous improvement in late 90s and 2000s in industrialised countries. It has been said that Six Sigma is an American version of TQM.
