They are the advocator behalf of the patients. They compassion, accountability, professionalism, caring, knowledgeable and they have a good communication skill to interact with patients. Florence nightingale said that "Caring for people and the nursing profession is a true art form. It takes empathy for people and upstanding morals and values. Nurses contribute many things to society and are upheld to very high professional standards" and her set the bar for nursing standards and pursed for nurses to advocate for patients when they were too sick to speak for themselves and she were the first person to incorporate nursing philosophy so that the public knew what was expected of nursing care.

DEFINATION of nursing NIGHTINGALE ....

Nursing is a unique and complex science, as well as a nurturing and caring art. In the traditional sense, nursing has been viewed as ministering to the soothing the sick though the provision of person-centred care. In the current state of medical changes, nursing also has become increasingly technical and scientific. Nurses are assuming increasing responsibilities that involve not only nurturing and caring, but also assessing increasing responsibilities that involve not only nurturing and caring but also assessing, diagnosing and intervening with people to treat, to prevent and to educate as they assist people in coping with various health state.

They protect patients from the risks and consequences of illness, disability, and infirmity, as well as from the risks and consequences of the treatment of illness. They also protect patients from the risks that occur when illness and vulnerability make it difficult, impossible, or even lethal for patients to perform the activities of daily living -- ordinary acts like breathing, turning, going to the toilet, coughing, or swallowing

Nurses have many different duties. They work to promote health, prevent disease, and help ill people. When assessing a patient they check vital signs, symptoms, and progress in patients. There are many different types of nurses, from surgical nurses to office nurses. They all have different duties.

Nurse need to be compassionate, kind, gentle, and caring. They need to be emotionally stable to be a nurse. Being a good nurse is not all about assisting the patients with medication or looking after patients, it about caring and educating the patients how to look after them self and maintain their health to the best of their ability. A nurse have to be knowledge, know what are they doing, why are they doing this?

According to Virginia Henderson Nursing is the most important person for looking after the patients, they promote health, try to prevent illness and they are knowledgeable to cure the disease. She also mention that a good health is a challenge because it is affected by numerous factors for such as age, cultural background, and emotional balance and other. Also the patients have basic needs that are component of heath. They may require assistance to achieve health and independence or assistance to achieve a peaceful death.

Nurse help assist the patients when the patients do not have the ability or strength to care for them self, and nurse have to do stuff for the patients while they do not have the strength and help the patients to achieve their independent  as  soon as possible so they can care for them self. the  nurse have the responsibility to assess the needs of the individual who are sick, help them to achieve their goal and met their needs and help the patient to do things independently with less support.

Although all modern technological systems and process undoubtedly contribute to more definitive, accurate and timely observations, two issues are in question. First, to what extent the nurse begins to over rely on technology and either fails to use or listen to intuitive practice or places this evidence above that which the patient or family may report. Secondly, to what extent the patient retains their individuality and humanity within technologically driven critical care units.
