Tools for social scientists to study how behaviors spread

Problem:

Epidemiologists provide important tools for social scientists to study how behaviors spread. Social scientists conduct tests similar to those of epidemiologists to find out what causes certain behaviors and how different actions can affect people and communities. Epidemiologists investigate the reasons behind diseases and how they spread through populations. They use this information to create effective plans to stop outbreaks, protect public health, and prevent future illnesses. For example, in Patient Zero by Peters, a man named John Snow investigates the mystery of the Broadstreet Pump Cholera Outbreak. He collects samples from the pump, to study: "From a leather case, he took out a small glass bottle, which he filled with water...From the clinking as he walked off, it seemed that there might be other bottles inside as well...a man who thought he had solved the mystery of cholera, and who was looking for a way to prove it." (Page 38) This proves that epidemiologists direct experiments in order to better understand the pathogens they are managing. Moreover, in the report by Jamil Zaki and his colleagsues in their paper "Kindness Contagion", Zaki and his team conduct various studies to understand the many aspects of human social behavior. For example, when studying the concept that people value being understood and shared with others, Zaki asserted that "supported by our own work". Need Assignment Help?
