To which the government and labor made it against the law

Based on the times and circumstances of the era I feel that Rockefeller did what he had too. The reason for this is because Rockefeller created monopolies and trust. He made it so his family could live and not worry about where their next meal will come from. The major thing with is it came around the time of the great depression. The captains of industry made it to the top by working their employees' long hours for the minimum of pay. Workers dealt with unsafe work environments. This workload included women and children. To which the government and labor made it against the law for children under the age of 16 to work long hours. Since then, they have improved the law. The negative consequences of their actions were they many people died and still could not prove for their families.
