Background of the Problem

The sub-Saharan African region has one of the highest fertility rates in the world and a population of more than 988 million. According to Donnenfeld & Navaran (2016), there is the greater need to be concerned with the problems of the region by all the international aid provision organizations. Within the constraints of the slow economic growth rate and the highly widespread poverty, the entrepreneurial skills development and its potential enhancements can be considered as the vital solutions to the socio-economic problems of the sub-region.

The discussions will focus on issues relating to the considerations of the entrepreneurship as a potent tool for the development of the sub-continent. It will also assess the qualitative potentials of these entrepreneurs and their roles in the alleviating of the problems of the unemployment and poverty.

Problem Statement

The sub-Saharan Africa was marginalization through the current unstable globalization and left the African Continent behind in its development despite the existence of their vast natural resources. As expressed by Ukpere (2011), indeed there are definite functional relationships between globalization, inequality, and poverty in the sub-Saharan Africa.

The current research problems can be considered to contain three different parts. The first part is the assessment of the potentials of the entrepreneurship as a solution to the poverty problems in the sub-region. The second is the identification of the testimonials which can legitimize the capabilities of the enterprises in the area. The third part is the ways and means which can be used to enforce, enlighten and make the citizenry more potent enough to take up the challenges of the entrepreneurship. It as a tool of self-sustenance as well as for the economic development of the whole sub-region.

Research Questions

A research question is a statement that guides and centers on any research work. It must be clear and focused, as well as synthesize the multiple sources to validate the sole argument. The research question should be ideal as well as something that the writer is interested in or for. The research questions that guided this study were:

Research Question 1: To what extent have the Sub-Saharan African countries governments developed the potentials of their citizenry in entrepreneurship?

Research Question 2: To what extent have the entrepreneurs contributed to the reduction of the poverty incidence in the developing countries?

Research Question 3: To what extent have the enterprises contributed to the decline of the high rate of poverty in sub-Saharan African countries?
