Extensive Report about
Each student is required to write an extensive laboratory report. The report must include the following tasks:
1. Flow under sluice gate.
2. Hydraulic Jump in open channel flow.
3. Determination of pipe fiction factor.
4. To determine loss of head & power loss due to sudden expansion.
OBJECTIVE:
To analyze different types of flow in open channel as well as in pipes with different boundary conditions.
OUTCOMES:
To verify the fluid flowing in open channel as well as in pipes and justify their numerical results with experimental observations
Abstract
Open Channel Flow is defined as fluid flow with a free surface open to theatmosphere. Examples include streams, rivers and culverts not flowing full. Open channel flow assumes that the pressure at the surface is constant.
