Throughout the term of the class we have looked at current

Question: Forecast Analysis

Throughout the term of the class we have looked at current and past events and conditions that have affected travel and tourism, destinations, and the impact they have on each other. For the subject of your term paper, I would like you to look towards the future. The basis of the writing for this assignment is how you feel the industry will evolve in ten years, if it will evolve at all. A few examples of key points available for discussion would be whether you believe locations considered to be second tier will remain second tier or will they rise or fall, what what be determinants for the rise or fall, how will the continual development of technology affect destination management and preservation of culture and heritage, and how will the expectations of travelers change in relation to (then) current events. As an example of the latter, you could analyze the economical environment in the European Union, specifically Greece and Spain and consider what would happen to the travel industry (business or pleasure) should an economy fail in the next ten years.

Instructions: A required element of your writing is that you incorporate an analysis using the activities, settings, experiences, and benefits (ASEB) grid analysis. Use the analysis as a means to provide an outlook rather than evaluating current experience. Describe what you believe the responses would be if asking visitors. Remember to explain any assumptions that you make.

The examples list in the introduction to the assignment are suggested discussion points for your writing. You will be expected to provide a thorough analysis of what the future may hold and you will be expected to base your reasoning on the foundation of history, meaning you will need references to show what is serving as the foundation for your perspective as well as for substantiating your outlook. You should have at least five individual references. You have been exposed to more than five sources throughout the course, but you are encouraged to use the library and Internet to locate relevant sources for your writing.

Aside from the use of the ASEB grid analysis and references, there are two requirements. The first is that youinclude a section, clearly distinguishable from other sections or discussion points, related to "Cultural Implications". In this section, you will discuss the cultural implications of what you are discussing in relation to the evolution of the industry.

The second requirement is that you perform an interview with an current event planner, for any platform or concentration. The interview does not have to incorporate any standard format or be dictated in full within the writing. The intent is that you display some discussion with an industry professional through evaluating their outlook or their perspective of yours. The interview should be cited in the writing (at least once).

NOTE - Please be sensitive to the time constraints and business demands of the interviewees. There is a globe full of event management and planners at all levels. Call to make an appointment befoWritten communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

• APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA (6th edition) style and formatting.

• Length of paper: Between 8 and 12 pages, double-spaced.

• Font and font size: Arial, 12 point

Remember to plan. Your failure to plan will not constitute an emergency on behalf of the interviewee. Allow them time to plan as well.
