In the NY Times article, "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare," the author (Nathaniel Rich) points out that, "Though PFOA was not classified by the government as a hazardous substance, 3M sent DuPont recommendations on how to dispose of it. It was to be incarcerated or sent to chemical waste facilities...But over the decades that followed, DuPont pumped hundreds of thousands of pounds of PFOA powder...into the Ohio River." Pretend for a moment that DuPont did not have information from 3M that PFOA was a hazzardous substance, in 3-5 sentences state Friedman's argument that DuPont's actions were ethical.
