Outlines for our project:

This project is about fictional company. So, you have to create a company that has a factory for manufacturing different sizes of cartons for other companies and grocery stores. Feel free to make anything that you think is needed I provide you these outlines to include it in our project papers.

1- Introduction.

Operation management definition, operation management principles. What are the competitive advantages that we will get by enhancing our operation processes? Examples. And write anything that you think is needed.

2- Background of the organization.

Talk about the company and give some details, how its work, talk about the process that transform inputs into finished goods (production processes), talk about the industry and the competitors, and finally talk about the supply chains and the inventory management of our products.

3- Summary of the problems.

1- Forecasting. (Create a problem and then solve it by using forecasting tool). For example, 1-determine a linear trend line for expected production, 2-use the trend equation to predict the expected production for the week 20 and 21, 3- the manager intends to install new equipment when the volume exceed 800 hundreds cartons per week,. Assuming the current trend continues the cartons volume will reach that level in approximately what week. Please here I want you to analyze the results that you come up with it

2- Project management. (Create a problem and then solve it by using project management tools, (critical path method (CPM) and includes at least 10 activities and explain each activity individually)

We will look at projects using the common modeling technique referred to as Critical Path Method (CPM) and use some important statistical ideas to strengthen the analysis.

3- Quality. (Please try to explain how the quality management could affect and improve the production processes of our company, for example if we produced 100 cartons and then we found that 7 of them have problems that are related to the production processes. So then how we can reduce this amount in order to save the company resources and to avoid spending much money that we have spent it before.

Quality Management: Operations Management is about an organizations work processes.  It should also be about improving those processes. For the next three weeks we will be looking at ways to improve our processes and reduce cost (not to make things cheaper, but to increase value for the customer and profitability for the firm.
