With your insightful position on the two great awakenings, I would respectfully like to ask you, with 85% of Americans professing to be Christians, how can the Christian faith dye down as it did to initiate the first great awakening. According to Christianity.org the dying down of Christianity began in the 18th century with, "Scientific studies accelerating and along side it came an energetic faith in the logical power of reason. (Christianity.org, 2017) This new thinking process encouraged the power of knowledge over the need for the love of God. This new thinking process took its toil on the Christian faith causing many during the 18th century to question their values and beliefs in God and His saving Spirit.
