This may be just a battle between publicists consultants

Discussion: What? They say BYOD is Dead?

This may be just a battle between publicists, consultants and editors - but early in 2013, just when a lot of the trade press was celebrating ways to tame the BYOD problem, another bow wave of opinion started to swell up. "BYOD is dead," trumpeted many publications; early experiences seemed to suggest it was just too hard to support too many users, on too many platforms, with too many apps and "just say no" started to turn into strategies to limit the numbers and kinds of choices an organization's work force would be allowed to bring to the workplace networks and information resources.

That's our topic this week. Are the "CYOD" pundits more on the right track? Or are they guilty of grasping one sound-bite of content about the BYOD paradigm, and misrepresenting it?

Survey the news and opinion coverage on this that you can find in current business, information systems/IT, and management news and trade press channels. Then come on in and take sides, and state (and support) your views.
