My assignment is that I am an entry-level worker, and the company I work for have suffered in profits forcing cutbacks. Compounding this problem is a new mandate has been set by the government for training in certain chemicals and the company is not in the position to send everyone without incurring substantial costs. My salary is good, but obtaining self-certification will take a lot out of it. Still, it's better than losing your job in a sagging economy. There are rumors floating about that the company may institute layoffs to help meet costs. You need to convince management to find ways to certify employees without laying anyone off.
