Appreciating Art: Descriptive Essay
Think about art. Think about music. Think about beauty. For the following essay, you must pick a piece of art, music, or literature, and explain why it is beautiful. Make sure to use good descriptive details in your essay. Do you like a song because of its mellow tones and soft rhythm, or do you like to head bang to death metal? Do you like a painting because it expresses sadness or happiness? Is there a deep meaning in a particular piece?
Please remember that your paper needs to be at least two pages in length when finished. It needs to be in MLA format and should include an introduction, thesis, body, and conclusion. While I'm not requiring you to create a works cited for this paper, you still should make it clear when you're referencing outside material. Please look at the following example:
Bob Marley sends a strong message when he states, "Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!" This is a powerful and catchy message of self-reliance. The impact of the message is compounded by the slow yet rhythmic reggae melody that repeats through the chorus, which causes the phrase to stick in a person's mind.
