Bad Choices
1) Should regulations regarding the use of cell phones while driving be standardized?
There is obviously a connection between impaired decision making while talking and texting while driving. When you get in your vehicle, you are taking your own life into your hands, but when you make the choice to drive distracted, you are taking the lives of others into your hands. Just like the government has implemented laws prohibiting drinking and driving because of impaired decision making while driving, the same needs to be done regarding phone usage while driving. Every state has different regulations regarding the use of mobile devices.
Thesis Statement: No one person is a better distracted driver than the next. For this reason, all states should have standardized regulations where the use of cell phones and driving are concerned.
Three major characteristics of my specific audience include: Drivers who feel they function the same while driving distracted or not.
