There are several derivatives of 13C or 14C glucose that are available for sale from radiochemical supply companies. These labeled compounds are quite useful for metabolic tracer studies. To demonstrate how these are used.
a) Initiate with glucose labeled at C1. Find out where the label is in pyruvate product.
b) Repeat this exercise with the label at position C2 of glucose.
c) Repeat this exercise with the label at position C3 of glucose.
