There are inherent qualities that some are born with that make them natural leaders and some qualities can be trained with enough time and nurturing on the job. There is, however, an ‘it factor’ that is tough to describe that gravitate others towards becoming part of something bigger. Leaders have historically possessed both qualities that show desire, belief, charisma, and enthusiasm when creating groups to make ‘big decisions.’ My brother-in-law, who is a very successful business person has always said; it is never a bad idea to surround yourself with people smarter than you. They sometimes just need someone that is capable of communicating their messages clearly to a broad audience. Making the decision to change requires having that ‘it factor’ for communicating the message, which must collaborated, communicated and vetted with other stakeholders and that takes charisma.
