There are certain universal principles of management that can be applied to any organization, public or private, profit or non-profit. These principles include determining and following the mission statement and allocating organizational resources efficiently and effectively. There are profound differences, however, in managing organizations in the private sector and the public sector.

In a three- to five-page paper, address the following:
 1.	Analyze the different management principles used in managing a private/non-governmental organization compared with managing a public/governmental organization and explain why the difference in management principles exists. Provide an example of an effective current or past public administrator (excluding past or current Presidents of the United States).
 2.	Discuss at least four skills of the chosen public administrator and explain how the selected management skills have benefited the administrator's organization.
Submit your three- to five-page paper (not including title and reference pages). Your paper must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide, and you must cite at least two scholarly sources in addition to the textbook.
