Problem:
I need help with an assignment. I already did it but did not receive a good score, I just don't understand it really and the professor is giving me another chance. I really need help. It is for a Research Proposal Project.
The purpose of the Research Proposal project is to provide you with the opportunity to apply course learning's while designing an original research study and conducting a literature review. You will apply your understanding of research design concepts to your research study idea and compile a completed proposal, though you will not actually conduct the study.
Here are a few important things to keep in mind:
I suggest first considering an area of psychology that interests you. Then, read some articles in that area (this week's assignment). You can track down articles by using the library link from the ucumberland
I encourage you to search APA PsyArticles and APA PsycInfo. As you read, pay particular attention to unanswered questions and limitations of previous (recent) research (look at the Discussion sections in the articles you read) on the topic. Doing this could provide good ideas for your proposed research.
Your research proposal must be some type of quantitative research study. DO NOT design a qualitative or mixed-methods study. Your proposed study can be an experimental or nonexperimental study. You'll be learning about specific types of quantitative designs in your chapter readings.
You will create a Literature Review which will help shape your research study. It will lay the foundation for your proposed research study idea and help justify your research design & methodology decisions later in the term.
Then, you should use the library to identify at least three (3) peer-reviewed articles that are related to your research topic/question. *Do not use meta-analysis articles. They are not appropriate for this literature review because there is no "design" to critique/use in the design of your proposed study!*
For your literature review, you should include:
1) Your research question or topic of interest.
2) A brief summary of each of the 3 articles you found including the purpose, design/methods they used, sampling/statistical methods, results they found, and conclusions they made. Need Assignment Help?
3) Critiques of the articles (i.e., Strengths and weaknesses of previous research) - You should be able to state at least one strength and at least one weakness for each article.
