The value of the criminal justice system is to deliver justice for all, by convicting and punishing the guilty and helping them to stop offending, while protecting the innocent. I feel the criminal justice system is supposed to keep balance within society. The primary function of the criminal justice system is social control. The components of the criminal justice process are police, courts and corrections. These components have the manifest function of controlling different kinds of deviance defined as crime.

As society changes law enforcement must adapt a culture of awareness conducive to maximizing it's potential in recognizing certain signs. I think that a changing society can change the effectiveness of criminal justice efforts in both a positive and negative way. The criminal justice system must be prepared for changes in society so that the system as a whole will be prepared for when it happens.

If they are not prepared for change then that will cause a negative effect and may cause crime to rise. That may include more training for certain departments or even creating a bigger budget to be able to fund things such as hiring more personnel or creating special teams. The criminal justice system can become more involved by having providing awareness programs, being involved more with youth and elders of communities.
