The US is based on a presidential system comprised of two main political parties with those political parties extending into the legislative branches (but not the judicial branch). The UK is based on a parliamentary system.
Since we discussed at great length last week the US-based electoral system, let's start our discussion here with a discussion of the parliamentary system. What exactly is it, and how does it work? Are political parties formed in this type of system?
