Purpose and Overview: The purpose of this assignment is for the student to:
- identify a current need for change in healthcare;
- identify steps to making the change, including identifying stakeholders and evidence; and
- discuss a minimum of one intervention to address the need for change.
Directions: Write a 2-3 page paper using the following guidelines.
- In one paragraph, explain the need for change in your current practice setting, a previous practice setting, or in an education practice setting.
- Discuss the need for change as it relates to the IOM Future of Nursing report.
- Review the literature for evidence on best practice for the change.
- Describe one intervention that addresses the need for change.
- List 5-6 steps on how to proceed with the change.
- Include stakeholders and a timeline for implementation.
- In your conclusion, using 1-2 paragraphs, summarize how the Future of Nursing report improved your nursing practice and promoted patient safety.
- Submit your paper using the Submission link.
