Assignment details
• The student is required to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the recent performance of a financial institution in a country of your choice. STATE BANK OF INDIA (SBI)
• For the selected financial institution,the student should obtain the most recent set of published accounts within the previous three years from the date of 1 AUG 2016. The student should take into account any other relevant information from a variety of sources.
The report should contain:
• An overview of the main characteristics of the financial market, including any relevant background information (e.g. economics/ politics/ culture).
• An identification of the type of financial services provided and its financial background.
• An evaluation of the selected financial institution by applying financial analysis (e.g. profitability, liquidity, efficiency, competition etc)
• An evaluation of the key environmental factors currently driving bank strategy within that market and an assessment of their Likely future impact on bank performance
• Based on the analysis, provide recommendation or suggestions in dealing with any of the problems identified.
• Comments on information released through the financial press and the internet on the financial performance since the publication of the annual report, linking this where appropriate with the earlier analysis.
NOTE-
• Appropriate calculations or illustrations to support the comments should be included in an appendix to the report.
• The assignment should be around 5000 words, excluding appendices and references. A word count must be indicated at the end of the assignment.
• The assignment should have proper in-text citation. A list of references following Harvard Referencing system should be attached to the end of the assignment. ATLEAST 20 references.
