The majority of people continue to believe in ESP phenomena in spite of the skepticism of most scientists. The scientific approach is to review the evidence, to think critically about claims, and to consider alternative interpretations. Each of the following is a statement you might hear someone say about ESP. Refute one statement - then post a comment to a student who commented on a different statement.
1. "But my aunt knew just when my grandfather died. She was asleep and sat right up in bed, looked at the clock, and began crying. She found out the next morning that that was the exact moment he died."
2. "My mother usually knows what my father is going to say before he says it."
3. "I knew I shouldn't have left on that trip. My horoscope predicted I would have car trouble and I did."
