In Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird, the author uses the sad truth of society to further enhance her story. Scout, a 7 year old girl who narrates the story learns that many people in her society face the struggle of human inequality. The sad truth of human inequality shows itself through the blacks, the men and women, and the people of higher and lower class who live in Maycomb, Alabama. Overall, Lee connects many events in her novel to the sad truth of human inequality for many citizens in Scouts' society.
