PLEASE NOTE the following:

a. Often, with these response journals, students will need to read the text before AND after the pages listed below!!

b. The page #s listed below might be slightly off (a page or two) as my edition of Zinn might be older or newer than your book. I am sorry for the confusion!!

c. Lastly, in the past, there has been some confusion with these Zinn journals.... I want you to do something similar to the other Zinn questions (i.e., opinions backed with facts/quotes from Zinn) but write your answers in a more fluid way...paragraphs in an essay fashion. I hope that helps to clarify :-) (MAKE SURE YOU STILL CITE Zinn in order to get credit!!)

Zinn Chapters 14 & 15

3. The Espionage Act was used to imprison Americans who spoke or wrote against the war. (356)

4. Did citizens not have a right to object to war, a right to be a danger to dangerous policies? (357)

5. In Congress, a few voices spoke out against the war. (362)

6. These were Nicola Sacco and Barolomeo Vanzetti (367)

7. The KKK was revived in the 1920s.... (373)

8. Clearly, those responsible for organizing the economy did not know what had happened, were baffled by it, refused to recognize it, and found reasons other than the failure of the system. (378)
