This macro process deals with all the processes that focus on the interfaces between the business and its customer. Second, Internal Supply Chain Management (ISCM) focuses on processes that are internal to a firm. Third, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) focuses on the relationship between the firm at its supplier. There are several process that fall under each macro process. Each macro process is critical to the success of a business. Additionally, they manage the flow of information and resources needed to meet the customer's needs. For a business to be successful, these macro processes should be integrated. If they are not integrated, it may not be able to meet the supply and demand in a particular market. The reading inculcates the idea that the structure of the supply chain should mirror the macro processes to ensure the effective communication between the owners of the different processes.
