The radiation emitted by the primordial fireball of the big bang had a blackbody spectrum corresponding to about 3000 K. We can still see this radiation but now it has a spectrum corresponding to about 2.7 K. 1. What is this radiation called and why did its apparent temperature fall from 3000 to 2.7 K ?
