Assignment -

The purpose of the assignment is for you demonstrate your ability to evaluate the effectiveness of a sales training program based on pre-test and post-test assessment of employee skills/behaviors/knowledge and to present a statistical analysis of your findings in a client-ready document. You will submit your a client-ready summary of findings and recommendations and your SPSS output in PDF format as you did in IO519. (SPSS output should be submitted as a separate file (PDF is preferred) and not included as an appendix to the business report.)

Scenario:

You have provided sales training to a group of 50 sales associates at an automobile dealership. Your client will not pay you until you demonstrate that your training worked.

The Data Set:

You have gathered sales performance scores prior to administering the training program (pretest scores) and again after administering the training program (posttest scores).

Instructions:

Use the Sales Training Evaluation Form to assess five key factors of sales performance on the role play exercises used to generate pre- and post-test scores.

Use the Excel spreadsheet containing TOTAL pretest and post-test performance scores, and pretest and post-test scores on each of the 5 factors, for each of the 50 employees. You will then have six pre-test and six post-test scores for each of the 50 participants.

Import the data from the Excel sheet into SPSS and analyze it using the necessary descriptive statistics and the appropriate statistical test.

Deliverable:

Provide a one-page business report to include:

A determination of whether or not the training program was effective in improving sales employee skills as a total, and for each of the five dimensions.

Support for the findings conveyed in the report with reference to key values in the SPSS output, reported in APA format.

Given the results, make recommendations for improving the training based on your finding.

This assignment should be written for client eyes, assuming they have very little training in statistics. Remember, bar charts convey a huge amount of information and require less explanation than the results of a t-test included in the text. This however, does not infer that such a test should not be performed and reported.
