You read the morning newspaper and discovered the Federal government is requiring all colleges and universities that receive federal money to ban all "weapons" from all college and university campuses as a way of reducing domestic violence.
You possess a concealed weapons permit from another state in which you permanently reside. You are interested in that issue because you occasionally carry your concealed firearm on campus. There is no clear campus policy regarding the matter.
On your way to class you came across a protest and were immediately blocked by police. The protest involved the recent ban and called for an overthrow of the federal government.
The protest occurred on the sidewalk outside of the entrance to the campus cafeteria and became so "large and hostile"" that school staff locked the doors to all campus buildings. Officers from state, local, and federal agencies, including the National Guard, arrived on campus for crowd control purposes.
Dozens of protesters were "rounded up," including you, and placed in police vans until things got "sorted out." The vans were overcrowded, hot, had little ventilation, and no water or restrooms were .45e.owcin provided during the several hours of detention. During that time police'protesters' clothing, bags, and purses were searched and some interesting items such as knives, a hand gun, and marijuana were found and seized.
After several hours in the van, you were taken to the local jail and questioned about what you were doing at the scene and whether you had anything to do with the "alleged conspiracy" to assassinate the president of the United States that was circulating on campus email accounts.
You told the police that although you disagreed with the recent ban on weapons, you hated the president of the US and agreed with some of the emails that came out of the "assassination" conversation. After that, the police sent you to a holding cell and told you to wait until they came back.
