The Protein targeting or protein sorting is the mechanism by that a cell transports proteins to the appropriate positions in the cell or outside of it. A Sorting targets can be the inner space of an organelle, any of many interior membranes the cell's exterior or its outer membrane by secretion. This delivery procedure is carried out based on information limited in the protein itself. The right sorting is crucial for the cell; errors can lead to diseases.
