This paper elaborates on quantitative research descriptions, steps, and designs coupled with the differences between quantitative and qualitative research. The mock study outlines there is a lack of trust displayed by a segment of customers regarding online banking as well as concerns about internet banking security. The purpose of the study is to explore underlying reasons for negative customer perceptions. While many quantitative research designs exist, correlational research is the most suited for the proposed study due to its cross-sectional format and identification of the relationship between variables. The adoption of a model testing correlational approach enables the formulation of a theory on customer perceptions of online banking and fills the existing research gap.
