The phrase “knowledge is power” is likely recognizable and attempts to speak to a specific location where power can be used to overcome oppression power from above, but education is not all powerful. What do I mean?

You can be the smartest person in the room and have multiple degrees, but that does not mean you are going to be hired by an employer, nor does it mean people are going to respect you or even like you.

There are many educated people that work very unfulfilling jobs and roles in order to make a living. I am sure there are times they feel quite powerless in their situation. Does and education give a person more options? Of course, but options are not power in the standard sense, but rather a flexibility to move, while many other people cannot.

What do you think of this extended explanation of this concept/phrase? Am I correct? Partially correct? Or completely incorrect?
