The narrative approach emphasizes the way in which strategy

"The narrative approach emphasizes the way in which 'strategy practitioners' both subjectively construct and are constructed by stories. This view recognizes that practitioners affirm their own identities, and assign subjective positions and roles to others through narrative sensemaking of their interactions, which includes that which is left unsaid and may be more important than that which is carefully articulated. At the same time, narrative sensemaking is, at least partly, structured by broader narratives within which the practitioners' own positions are located. Understanding the role of narrative contributes to understanding how the overall thrust and direction of 'organizing' emerges, which may or may not be explicitly recognized as a 'strategy.' This also includes making sense of the accumulation of economic value by the organization.
