The most important skill to complete a project effectively

The most important skill to complete a project effectively is a communication where the projects needs should be understood by the project team clearly so that they are all on the same page.

The good communications play a vital role in the project management along with the technical skills of the project team. If there are any miscommunications between the project team members there is a great risk for the failure of the project. ( Kerzner, 2013).

It is better to communicate properly with the team members rather than realizing at the end of the project where there are more chances of the failure. Most of the project managers invest a large amount of time with the individuals and team in implementing the project practically where the project manager invest about 85% of their schedule on communication-related tasks.

The project manager should convince the stakeholders of his communication by explaining each single details which are necessary and implement the project successfully. (Senescu, Aranda-Mena G, & Haymake, 2013).Effective communication plays an important factor in the overall success of the project.

After analyzing the given case study, I would be saying that Herb is not the right person as a project manager to be assigned even though Herb has eight-plus years of experience working the projects.

As Herb has experience on the research development and enhancements of the projects, it would not be a wise decision considering all the facts on the experience of Herb. He may be the right person to assign as an R &D manager where he has a lot experience in the project management which also helpful for his future.

There might be a communication issue of decoding where Alice is expecting the letter of recommendation from Herb and Bob wants all the communication to happen through him. The cost of procurement was asked to complete by Betty where it can be a communication issue of feedback and Frank includes all three communication issues.
