The Latin American urban philosophy dominated the concept of terrorism from about 1960 until the early 1990s, and it still influences many terrorist groups such as violent right-wing North American extremists. Yet more recently, modern terrorism has been influenced by two other trends: violence lacking cohesive structure, and religious fundamentalism. How do you think these new factors will influence the urban model? What types of support structures must terrorists have regardless of their organizational philosophy?
