I think if you wanted to roll out a new ERP via the cloud it would be less time consuming and would not create so much "down time" for your business. The lack of down time would be the result of being able to continue working simultaneously when the new ERP is being loaded and customized for your needs on the cloud. Once the new system was available you would be able to transition the business onto the new ERP with hopefully minimal down time relating to IT issues.
