The Influence of Media on Children's Language Development

In the article, Salwa was telling the good effect of the media to children language. I agree and disagree with her. One thing I agree with her is kids can learn new vocabulary, and it will entertain children. To me, it is vital that parents should be the one to teach children with their vocabulary, help to develop their abilities and guidance. Children can gain more confidence and if parents are around with the kids. Without television parents and children can have a strong bonding relationship. Also, watching television feeds false information to our kids. We should not depend the learning from the television as much as possible limit the television to children. It is good if we interact with the kids so that we will know what they have been doings. Once the kids occupied with the television, it makes them lazy doing their school works. According to Gliebe (2011), babies learn about reality through experience and by manipulating objects and playing with tools, and they learn problem solving skills. Through practice, they gain mastery of these skills. Once my kids are watching the television it's tough for me to talk to them. That's why to me spending too much in media has an adverse effect on our children.
